So, America is a democracy, huh? People are free to voice, their opinions are they?
Then, why is it then that artists are being boycotted because of their pro-peace stances or made to feel that they should not express their messages? Take for example the "call to arms" to boycott the Dixie Chicks music because they spoke their minds and Madonna feeling that she has to pull her new video. Are people not allowed to say what they feel and then be judged by it?
The Dixie Chick that made that comment was simply stating her point of view. It may not have come out the way that she wanted but she should be able to say what is on her mind. And Madonna? When has she ever caved to negative public opinion? What's next... are average citizens to be thrown in jail? Or just disappear altogether?
I thought that the US was the land of the free. Obviously only if you side with the one in power.
David was right. Democracy only exists on the day that you vote...
